Effective Forum Marketing Strategies For Your Online Business

This guest post is written by Quantum SEO Labs.

Several businesses are widely marketed through forums these days. Online marketers just like being on forums sharing insights and marketing their products. They use these message boards to boost their market brand awareness. Forums are a great place for expanding your connections as well as marketing products online. One great thing about forums is being able to learn a lot of new things easily.

Online marketers showcase their online products with the aid of forums. They also learn new techniques and technologies from it. Forum marketing is one thing every serious online marketer must consider.

Forum Marketing Strategies

A forum refers to a group of people or a cluster of people hanging out in one place on the web to basically discuss a given topic. For instance, if you are interested in cars, you can join a vehicle forum where you will meet other like-minded car enthusiasts like yourself. Should you be selling a product that relates to cars, then this is a great place for you to get started.

Searching forums is but a simple task. To easily find one, you must go to Google and type in the kind of forum you are looking for, using of course the kind of keyword or keywords you are targeting.

You have to be careful when posting on various message boards especially if you are trying to promote a product. There is an unwritten rule which you must follow or you will be instantly be banned from the forum.

 Forum Marketing Strategies
Always read carefully the forums guidelines before you begin starting any post or thread for that matter. First of all, you must not blatantly post any advertisement about your new product, how great it is, and why people should be buying it. Or else, you will get tons of members getting mad at you for blatant self-promotion.

An important thing you should take note of as you join a forum is the use of a signature file. Like your email, your forum account likewise has a signature. This signature appears right below every post you make on a forum. You do not want to use your forum membership to promote your product directly. But, you should use the forum to mine people straight into your own list.

Your forum signature may have a link to a report which pertains to a relevant product, or link to some audio or video clip of your product. Each time they click on the link on your forum signature they will arrive at a page which will ask for their name and email address, this is what they call the squeeze page.

As they fill out the form, they will receive a report. The importance of a squeeze page is to help you create your list of subscribers for your online business. You can use this list in return to market your own products to them in ways you deem fit.

It is crucial that you do not spend too much of your time on forums daily. Oftentimes, an hour or so would be great. Some people can be hooked to this kind of marketing and spend almost the whole day engaging in discussions which can be disadvantageous for you and your business.

Forums are a great way for you to build a list and start making a name for yourself or your online business.

But remember to always add value to other people by providing insightful posts and beginning informational threads. Forums are also a great way of networking as well as forging relationships with people who will provide you with more opportunity for growth and added income for a successful business. I hope this article has shown you the great power of forum marketing and that you too, can leverage from it.

Enjoy forum marketing today!

How to Make Guest Blogging Work for You

Guest blogging has become a very effective way to scale a blog/site to high rankings on search engines making it one of the most used methods of online marketing. Any experienced internet marketer would tell you to use guest blogging to give your new site a presence on the internet. This is not only because its a cheap and easy way to grow a site, its also very effective in helping you build your reputation online as a blog or business website.

 Guest Blogging Work for You

However, notwithstanding how easy it is to use guest blogging as a means of online marketing and promotion, many people still cant make it work for them. This blog post will be explaining powerful ways to make guest blogging work for you.

Target Relevant Niche

When targeting a blog to submit a guest article to, there are several things you should put into consideration. Many people consider the Google page rank of the blog, followed by other criteria obtainable from SEOmoz and other SEO tools and apps. This is a very smart way to make sure your efforts are not wasted, but it does not end with that.

The blog relevancy matters! When I talk of relevancy, Im not just referring to the niche your site and the host blog is, but the articles posted on the blog in question. If a blog claims to teach you to make money online and then all you can find on it are articles teaching you how to play poker search engines will not value such sites. Getting a link from a site that is not valued on search engines will result in you wasting your efforts and time.

And if your article is not of high standard, then the readers of the blog will not value at. And as strange as this may sound, Google has a way around making sure articles readers dont enjoy get no rankings on the search results.

The keywords youre using in your article should be related to the article and also to your hosts site, and then you may decide to use any keyword that fit your site niche as your anchor text, to help you increase your rankings on search engine for that keyword.

A good way to use guest blogging to increase your sites rankings on search engines is by using a variety of keywords that are related to your niche, using each set of keywords only once and using as much keywords as you can come about.

Google Analytics: Monitor SERP Click Through Rate and Improve It

This is one of the topics that we never touched before and there is a huge need to highlight the importance of click through rates of our blog posts in search engine results page. We never realize the real potential of our blog posts, and their connection with the visitors they tend to attract via search engines.

Sometimes we put in our all efforts to build up a single comprehensive article, but at the end of the day, there is that another posts of less than 300 words that keep bringing you the most traffic. Pretty annoying sometimes. Though there can be so many factors behind the traffic that a particular posts pulls in. But CTR through search results page is one major factor that we often neglect.

This post will particularly highlight how exactly can monitor the click through rates of our previously blog posts and learn from them for our future articles titles. Unfortunately, the best we can do via this strategy is that we can only learn from our previously published posts and the impact of CTR on them, but after all learning is the major key that would keep us pushing towards the best that is set for us.

Road To Google Analytics Pro

4-How To Setup Google Analytics Goals?
7-Google Analytics: Monitor SERP Click Through Rate and Improve It You're Here
:: Series end by 26th August 2012.

So What Is SERP CTR (Click Through Rate) ?

Did you ever realized that sometimes you tend to click the 5th or 6th link (or atleast not the top ones 1-3 positions) in search engine results page against any search that you would make? There is always something behind that particular posts that keeps on attracting readers even though though thats not among the first 1-3 positions.

The post that achieves first 3 or 4 positions in search results often gets most of the traffic for that search keywords. But its pretty normal to see few posts that keep pulling in visitors that sits at the bottom of search engine results page.

That is what we are going to monitor today. We'll see how many impressions your each blog posts gets via SERP and the average CTR that they achieve.

How To See Your Blog Posts Average CTR In SERP?

Navigate through your Google Analytics Dashboard >> Standard Reporting >> Traffic Sources >> Search Engine Optimization >> Queries.

Analyze Average CTR And Improve It

This is where the fun part begins. Average position refers to the value that your posts gets on average in SERP. Say, for a particular search term, your blog posts was placed 3rd while in the next it was at 7th position. So that average position that it would attain would be calculated by (3+7)/2 = 5.

So you could work on your blog posts that tend to attain an average position of less than 10. Thats the chance where you can improve the upcoming blog posts in the same category..

Say one of our Google Analytics posts tends to get average position 5. So as i know that these posts are performing well in SERP (Due to the content they have), so i would work on much harder on the next posts in the series and would try to optimize the titles of my very next posts in the series.

You may like to read:

# Points To Improve SERP CTR

Though the post linked above would give out a greater in look of Title optimization of blog articles, though there are few of the points below that you can always apply and get the best of the results.

1- Implement Google Authorship

Read the post below to show up your profile picture besides your blog articles in SERP. That makes a huge difference when it comes to clicks. People tend to click links that are accompanied with authors profile picture.

2- Post Title Limit

Make sure that you post titles are not more than 66 characters. Use our Character Count Tool for the purpose.

3-  NO Weird Characters

Just let the post titles be smooth and simple. Nothing out of the box in this case. Though you can always experiment with capital Letters for an example: " Top 5 BEST Selling Products". Such titles always grab attention of the readers.

Hope this strategy would help you out find the potential behind your top performing posts and would make them even better in the future.

Stay Safe guys.smile

How To Add a Featured Section In Blogger

One of our readers wanted to know a possible way through which we can add a featured section to our blogger blogs as what we have added at this point time. Having a featured section in our blog is not only visually important, rather its more of a demand to increase page authority of our top performing articles. Many of us don't tend to realize that the page rank that is associated with our main domain (www.yourdomain.com) has little effect on the posts that you would publish.

Featured Section

By interlinking your featured posts with your main domain (Home page), you can help those articles perform even better than before in SERP (Search engine results page). So for that purpose, we can use a featured section on our blog that would highlight all the top performing articles that you blog already has, so that that would get benefited through the page rank that you have earned over the time.

How To Add a Featured Section?

Now, in Blogger its fairly easy. Its not more than adding another widget section to where ever you wish in your Blogger template. I previously shared:

Now once you add a widget holder where ever you wish, may that be footer (as what we have done here at BeH) or even any where above the fold. That could be even a sidebar, but the featured widgets that we shared previously are not designed for sidebars. Though we could connect our featured posts in sidebar via a drop down menu powered by a simple JavaScript. I'll soon share that with you guys.

Below are few featured posts widgets that you can apply once you have created a featured section on the blog.

Google Analytics: Monitor Exit Pages and Reduce Bounce Rate

google analytics exit pages
Continuing our Google Analytics series, here we have one of the most important posts in line, that features monitoring blog exit pages followed by taking up viable actions to reduce your blogs bounce rate. As we previously realized,

Analytics has a huge potential in outlining the weak areas of our blog, and in this case its, the exit pages that we have to deal with. No doubt that our blogs/websites would have exit pages, and thats pretty normal, but our further efforts to reduce the bounce rate through those exit pages could help us in retaining those readers.

And that could only be done once we would know the exact sour points.

How To See Top My Exit Pages?

So by logging into your Google Analytics dashboard, navigate through Standard Reporting >> Content >> Site Content >> Exit Pages.

It would show up a bunch of statistics and pages (posts/articles) that have the highest number of people exiting your blog. These are the areas that you need to work hard to make those readers jump on to other reading material on your blog.

google analytics exit pages

How To Study Exit Pages % and Reduce Bounce Rate?

Once you would be on the exit pages section, you would notice a bunch of articles on your blog that would be the culprits. Consider the picture below as an example. Notice the top post that accounts for almost 75% of total exits is something that we have to worry about as a webmaster. Though we know, that readers are bound to leave the blog and moving on at some point though, but we can try our best to convert that page into a way that would provide more reading opportunities to the reader and thus distracting him/her to read even more.

google analytics exit pages

There are few strategies that you can begin working on to minimize the overall bounce rate of your blog due to these top exit pages.

Interlink More Articles With Top Exit Pages

Equally distributed linked articles

Not many people tend to realize the importance of equally distributing linked articles within your top exit pages posts. For the best approach, that kind of works for us is by introducing few related articles just after the introductory paragraph.

That is a point where reader tends to get a little break and is in the transition period. Next, you could link related articles to every other paragraph (if you believe the related posts is actually 'related' too).

Then few of the posts could be interlink at the end just below sign up off words. That really works! Working on these few points would surely improve the % of your top exit pages and would make sure that your readers tend to read even more after those specific pages/posts.

5 Blog post Ideas that Work

This guest post is written by Syed Mustafa is a staff writer for 100Webhosting.com

Creating a blog post is easy. Whats difficult is creating one that actually gets read and spread. But regardless of what kind of blog you run, you will need good post ideas to keep you ahead of the crowd. And thats where most bloggers lack. Their ideas just arent good enough to work and give results. So how do you go about it? How do you create blog posts that get you noticed?

Given below are five ideas that you can use right away for your upcoming posts.

Before moving on, you may like to read:

#1: Get Involved in the Conversation:

If you look around, youll find that the blogosphere is filled with a ton of ideas to blog about. All you need to do is find interesting blogs within your niche and get involved in the conversation.

For instance, if a blogger has written about something that you agree or disagree with, respond to him by writing a blog post and mentioning him in it. This not only helps you come up with unique content but also lets you connect with other bloggers. Thats how you bond and network in the blogosphere.

You may like to read:

#2: Curate the Best Content:

Content curation is the in thing these days. As a blogger you can help your readers discover quality content by curating it from different sources.

However, curation doesnt mean you simply find and organize relevant links. You have to add your own opinion or add your insight to the content youre curating. Thats how youll be able to add real value to your blog posts.

#3: Compile a List of Experts within Your Niche:

Lets face it - if you want to grow your blog, you need to connect with the influencers. You need to get noticed by the experts within your niche. And what better way to do it than create a blog post that lists them out, links to them and recommends them?

There are a number of ways you can approach this idea. You can talk about the achievements of these experts, or what makes them special, or even review each of their blogs. Think out of the box and youll be able to create a valuable post that your readers will like.

#4: Create a Step-by-Step Guide:

The Internet is filled with newbies who are always looking for new and easy ways to do things. They want to be guided, helped and taken by hand.

Creating a step-by-step guide is a great way to create blog posts that not only get read, but also get linked. Besides that, you dont really have to go too in-depth with your guide. Sometimes even the basics can go a long way. As long as youre giving clarity to your readers, theyll love your content.

#5: Publish Your Progress Report

If youre a blogger who loves sharing and giving real value, then this tip is for you. Consider publishing a progress report on your blog where you make your readers a part of your journey.

There are many top bloggers who have successfully used this strategy to connect to their readers. For example, if youre running a fitness blog, you can create monthly reports on how youre progressing towards building a great body. It doesnt matter what niche your blog is in, if youre taking action, you will have something to share. And people hold progress reports in high esteem because theyre honest and powerful.

Conclusion

Good blog post ideas are everywhere. Theyre all around you. But unless and until you experiment with various ones, you wont know what works for you.

So always be open to the idea of testing out new ideas. Keep moving ahead by writing blog posts that actually push boundaries. Because thats how stand out from the rest. And thats how you make a difference.

'The Next Web' Featured Post Widget With Shadow Effect

Today we have another amazing 'The Next Web' style featured post widget that has been customized to give it an Apple products touch. The elegant widget is really great in terms of utilizing space and serving the purpose. The previous widget : Blogger Featured Post Widget With Glass Shine Hover Effect was though a top class thing, but the down side was the space it requires for simply 3 featured posts. We could edit this 'The Next Web' featured post widget to add up  3 more posts, and that would take up the same space.

Though you can use it over any other color scheme, but with a little tweak that is listed below too. So lets heads up and get through the steps you need to apply the widget to your blog.
