Top 10 Rules Of Blogging

blogging rules and tips
For everything in life, there are bound to be rules and regulations attached. The same goes for blogging and we know that this is a world of change, right? Well, in blogging, there are old rules and new rules. Just cant keep my mouth shut, can I? Well, since I have spoken about old rules, I am certain you are wondering what old rules there are.

Umm, back in the days, blogging was all about traffic, ranking high, having lots of comments, appreciating the efforts of your subscribers and visitors, and other things that have to do with service oneself.

These things are not wrong but as the web changes, you must change with it, or you will be left behind. Blogging is all about creating a kind of view to the audience that you are experienced in your field and showing that you are different from all other bloggers.

Before I go into the new rules of blogging, I would like to state some of the old rules, and they are;

Post frequently: I am not saying this is wrong, but posting that way will produce poor quality content and I call it, writing for writing sake. You are also at risk of losing subscribers. When writing, you are required to think quickly, but, when you abide by this rule, you will think not deeply, but quickly.

Your post must be brief: most bloggers still abide by this rule. Wait a minute! I am not saying it is bad because I know there are reasons for everything. Well, writing is not about writing everything that comes to your head because your readers will not read contents that are not important. So, you need to set your mind to focus and quality and the rest will come easy to you.

Linking a lot: this is one rule I am still not comfortable with and I have noticed that most bloggers obey this rule when they have nothing to blog about. Most bloggers believe that you must have a reason to link, but that idea is wrong because posts that have only links in them are regarded as spam and such can end the life of your blog.

So, you must avoid linking unnecessarily. Well, lets move on, shall we?

 The last rule which I am sure everyone is used to is the rules of encouraging comments and adding questions that are irrelevant to your blog. You might not like this, but to me, it sucks.

With all these said, I welcome you to the new rules of blogging and I say bye-bye to the old rules.
The only thing that separates the old and new rule is STRATEGY because it is what makes you unique.

Now, here are the new rules of blogging;

1. Your content must correspond to your strategy: strategy is all about communicating with your readers and be sure to send the right message. Every post on your blog is an act of demonstrating what you are good at and why you are the best choice. Be unique!

2. Focus on your idea: Oops! I think I have mentioned this before, but, I would love to explain more. You are expected to focus on content that are linked to your field and also be sure they are helpful to your audience or visitors. One thing you should know is that readers come to your blog because of your expertise and not your excess posts.

3. Be the teacher and your visitors, the student. To make this work, you must be sure to explain things that ought and ought not to be explained on your blog and answer questions when necessary. Also, be sure to have a listening ear and try your best to answer the questions tp the satisfaction of your visitors.

4. Be personal: this can make the connection between you and your audience strengthened and the rest will seem simple to you. Most bloggers create barriers between them and their subscribers and this has made them go down-lane.

5. Be jovial: now, I am not saying you should be stupid but just try to make people laugh. It can be hard in a way, but you just have to develop yourself in that area. When this is done, you are likely to increase the amount of shares gotten from your blog.

6. Be creative: try to create new topics, writing style, and also blog structure. You can also think up ideas that will give value to your blog.

7. Be hard working: hard work pays and it can also create room for all-round success. There are times when you do all the right things but get no good result. So, you just need to work harder and see where it leads you.

8. Create meaningful content: not all posts are relevant in the eyes of your readers. You can make it catching by posting nice videos, pictures and also info-graphics.

9. Spread your wings more than the others: you just need to be better than every other person. Just have that in mind. More benefits will be gained when you spread your wings and if you have a similar target to get, be sure to do as you are told.

10. Abide by these new rules: to obey is better than sacrifice; so, it is best you use these blogging tips wisely for a better blog and also a peaceful mind.
